Pre-verification of conformity (PVOC) or pre-shipments program is a conformity assessment program carried out by the international accredited third parties (Inspection and certification bodies), this program is conducted in the country of origin of goods and products, the aims of this program is to ensure goods and products are comply with applicable standards, safety and quality requirements for protection of consumer and reduce importation of sub-standards goods, its provided for by section 8 € and section 9 (I,e) of the national bureau of standards act (2012),
Before shipping to South Sudan all consignment subject to PVoC must obtain the mandatory documents and certificate of conformity (CoC) without which the commodities arriving at the border may be rejected or fined. The PVoC is carried out by the authorized accredited third- party agencies, consisting of physical inspection, laboratory testing, documentary review and factor audits, where necessary.
SSNBS is already working on the recommendation with some of the reforms that was developed by the technical inspectors to put the PVOC procedure in place liaising into the international requirements and regulation of PVoC.
