The South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS) is the nation’s regulatory authority for standardization, quality assurance, metrology, and testing. Its main objective is to protect consumers, ensure fair trade, and enhance the competitiveness of South Sudanese products.

Establishment & Legal Framework

The SSNBS was first established as a government directorate in 2006. It was later formally constituted as an independent bureau in 2012 through the SSNBS Act 2012, which, along with the Weights and Measures Act 2012, forms its legal foundation.
