From SSMO To SSNBS    (Our Background)

South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS) is a government of South Sudan regulatory authority, tasked with the development, implementation and enforcement of standards, conformity assessment, metrology and technical regulations. These services comprise both in voluntary and regulatory regimes being performed throughout the country, States, border posts and trading centres.

The legal framework is based on the National Bureau of Standards act (2012), weights and measure act (2012). The main objectives and functions of SSNBS include enforcement of standards provision in protection of public health, safety and the environment against sub-standards products, ensure fair trade through reliable measurement systems, and promotion of export through certification and value addition.
